What the air does out here
Bakery row opens at Mile 46, one stall to an oven, and the corner stall bakes December all year. Spiced gingerbread comes out on trays while the icing gets piped on in front of you, and since the midway never closes, winter never has to leave this corner. The rest of the row argues seasons; this corner settled it years ago.
Who rides with it
December people who do not apologize for it in July. The stall keeper, who pipes icing with the calm of somebody who has never once run out. Kids who ask for extra and get it, because the piping bag has one setting and the setting is generous.
Pair it at the next stop
Next door at Mile 47 somebody built a whole house out of this stall's inventory, and the stall keeper calls it her proudest delivery. Peppermint Twist keeps winter's other flavor at Mile 50.
