What the air does out here
The valley throws one fair a year, and Mile 11 arrives right at light-up. The generator catches, every bulb on the little midway blinks awake at once, and the whole crowd says this scent's name in unison. At the gate a fruit stand works the ferris wheel line, raspberry and strawberry with orange riding over the top, ripe fruit with the lights on.
Who rides with it
Kids who have been counting down since the flyers went up in the feed store window. Teenagers holding hands on a ferris wheel you can see the whole valley from. The fair has three rides, one generator, and no intention of apologizing for either.
Pair it at the next stop
You tasted this fruit one marker back, where Black Raspberry Vanilla keeps it quiet at Mile 10. If you want it louder still, Fruit Loops waits at Mile 19 with the same brightness turned up to Saturday morning. Boomshakalaka is the welcome party; the valley runs on fruit from here.
